We reviewed the latest version of Magic Lantern 2.3 for the Canon T1i/500D.
Guys, we have installed of the Magic Lantern v2.3 on the Canon T1i DSLR. The results have been incredible. Canon T1i adds new settings and essentially mods your camera. The 8 bit capable DSLR that struggles with highlights and can not give Zebra signals for over or under exposure now can. The Camera was limited to shooting only 20 fps in 1080p and 30 fps in 720p. Now, the camera can record any frame rate between 2 and 65 at 720p! The settings allow for the camera operator to make any decision possible in a motion picture camera. The frame size one the T1i is not as big as the 7D or 5D.
According to Canon: The Canon EOS 500D is a 15 megapixel entry level digital single-lens reflex camera, announced by Canon on 25 March 2009. It was released in May 2009. It is known as the EOS Kiss X3 in Japan, and as the EOS Rebel T1i in North America. It continues the Rebel line of mid-range DSLR cameras, is placed by Canon as the next model up from the EOS 450D, and has been superseded by the EOS 550D (T2i).
Sound levels are very easy to control and see while recording except for when the user changes the frame rate. I noticed that for the Canon T1i you can keep the studio on, but it will not match up in post at all. Maybe some more playing around will change all that.
